Workout Warriors Who Screw The Pooch

Wonder why that workout routine isn’t translating into a leaner physique? Study suggests the more some people exercise the lazier they are the rest of the day.

The study published in Current Nutrition Reports found that “the more time you spend engaging in a structured exercise routine, such as going to the gym or running, the more likely you are to cut back on other physical daily activities.” As the related Fox News story observed, “this decline in physical activities could affect people’s ability to lose weight successfully even if they participate in a routine exercise program.” Julie Marvel Mansfeldt, a research graduate nutrition student explained, “If people are seeking weight loss, they should be aware of their non-exercise physical activity or NEPA – activities such as walking the dog, riding a bike to work or standing at the desk at work.”

I dunno. Anyone who has kids & a dog know the kids would rather take out the garbage than walk the dog (and, in fact, do neither), leaving dad to do it. As for riding a bike to work may it be asked what suburbanite rides a bike 20 miles to work … or a city slicker now risks being hi-jacked by a crazed homeless fentanyl addict 50 paces after he leaves his asylum’s door? And, does anyone believe those woke people who stand at their desk are burning enough calories to offset their caramel mocha latte only an arm’s length away? For those fake exercisers identified in the study who are trying to screw the pooch: Cut it out. You’re making a BIG mistake & in the (hind) end only screwing yourself.
