World Cup Final Might Still Be Playing?
Can we agree the World Cup final between Argentina & France was epic but makes a giant argument for why no sport’s world championship should be decided by what's called an "overtime shoot-out"?
Somebody had to win of course. Just not this way when the fate of a nation’s beloved sport is at stake. Too much luck rather than the blood, sweat and tears teamwork on display by both teams for over 100 minutes in “regulation” time, then, two 15-minute overtimes, before the “overtime shootout” put an unmerciful end to the affair.
Consider that Titans and their legions deserve to lay it all on the field of battle until one army tops the other. The legions should not have to watch from the sidelines while a designated David & Goliath go mano a mano. And, their fate should not be decided by a single sling shot … or even best of five.
